About Us

Michaella was born in Vancouver, and also spent some of her formative years in Toronto. A lifelong learner, she started a new career in Early Childhood Education only a few short years before starting a family of her own. She writes stories inspired by the small, meaningful moments in family life. With a passion for emotional literacy and inclusive storytelling, she created George & Belle as a way to help young readers see themselves — and their feelings — reflected on the page. Along with writing, she also has a love for nature and animals. And potato chips.
